Our Egyptologist tour guide will pick you up from your hotel to start your tour by air conditioning vehicle, where you will see the oldest mosques and the most important parts of Islamic Cairo. You will start your tour by the visit of Ahmed Ibn Tulun Mosque this mosque is the oldest and the largest mosque in the Cairo surviving in its original form, it was built during 9th century AD for the founder of Tulunid Dynasty Ahmed Ibn Tulun. When you visit this mosque you will enjoy its unique design which remains till and you can’t see anywhere else.
Then you will go to the Gayer Anderson Museum which is attached to the mosque, this museum is an example of a marvelous historical house in Egypt, as it consists of two houses were built during 16th and 17th centuries AD. Then, at the beginning of the 20th century, the Egyptian authorities gave permission to Gayer Anderson, one of the high officers who served in the British army in Egypt, to live in the house. Since he used to travel around different countries in the world, his house had many items from various places. After his death, the Egyptian government converted the house into the museum. So this museum contains beautiful decorations and divided into many sections and rooms. These rooms contain different designs of furniture such as the Persian Room, and the Ottoman Room.
After that you will go to Amr Ibn Al Ass Mosque which is the first and oldest mosque ever built on the land of Egypt. Erected in 642 AD (21 AH) by Amr Ibn Al-As, the commander of the Muslim army that conquered Egypt, the mosque is also known as Taj Al Jawamie (Crown of Mosques, Al Jamie Al Ateeq (the Ancient Mosque) and Masjid Ahl Al Rayah (Mosque of Banner Holders)
Then you will go to El Moez Street and khan el khalili where you will see unusual part of Islamic Cairo at one of the oldest streets in Egypt El Moez Le Din Allah Street. There you will visit many old houses and mosques which were built from more than 1000 years. Then you will enjoy your time in khan el khalili bazaar, the major souk in the Old City of Cairo and a major tourist attraction, where you will be transported back in time to an old Arab souk. The souk dates back to 1382, when Emir Djaharks el- Khalili built a large caravanserai (خان khan in Arabic) in Cairo under the Burji Mamluk Sultan Barquq. This bazaar nowadays is loud, crowded, colorful and exciting. It contains different kinds of goods.
During the visit; your tour guide will tell you great information about the history of the site and you will stop many times to take wonderful photos.
